RAPAPORT... Sarin Technologies Ltd. launched its light performance system, the Sarin D-Light™, at the Hong Kong jewelry show this week.   Sarin’s D-Light quantifies a polished diamond’s appearance by measuring its light performance characteristics – brilliance, fire, sparkle and light symmetry.

According to Sarin, this technology will serve the diamond industry by enabling manufacturers to further increase the quality of polished diamonds by optimizing light performance. Furthermore, Sarin D-Light enables shoppers to observe a diamond's visual appeal in a retail store through a display screen.

Uzi Levami, Sarin's chief executive, said, ''The Sarin D-Light will provide an enhanced, truly 21st-century buying experience by providing vibrant visualization of a diamond’s appearance under varying light conditions. The Sarin D-Light will allow consumers to more readily understand the offered polished diamonds’ beauty and more fully appreciate their value. In addition, Sarin will supply tools and services to the entire industry pipeline, from manufacturer, through trader, to jeweler and retailer so as to better manufacture, trade and sell their polished diamonds with additional emphasis on readily viewable and understandable information based on light performance.''
