Dubai Polished Auction Nets $7M

RAPAPORT... The Diasqua group, a polished trading company, sold 34,000 carats of polished diamonds for $7.2 million at an auction through the Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE). The event was the first polished auction to be held in the Middle East, according to the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC).

More than 60 companies participated in the auction, including dealers from India, Belgium, Hong Kong, Japan and Thailand. The largest stone sold weighed 21 carats, DMCC reported.
