RAPAPORT... Scott Kay Inc. appointed Susan Chandler to the role of chief merchandising officer, named  Tom Kennedy as the brand's chief commercial officer and selected John Croston as  its chief supply chain officer.  All three senior-level executives joined Scott Kay from David Yurman Inc.

"We've spent nearly a year focusing on aligning a myriad of opportunities into one strategic and focused framework," said David Minster, the CEO of Scott Kay. "Now, we are executing that strategy by creating a world-class executive team to realize the full potential of the Scott Kay brand." Now, as a business group, Scott Kay's artistry will come into focus to bring highly marketable offerings to a vast audience, he said, adding, "another milestone in the history of Scott Kay is about to unfold."

Company founder Scott Kay said, "My direction to David was to build a superior team; don't hold anything back. That is exactly what he has done.  With David at the helm and these executives secured, I now will return to what I do best:  art, expression and design."

Minster added, "In order to achieve a growth target of $500 million in sales, you must hire executives who have been there before; they understand the importance of scope and scale.  Each are highly experienced professionals; each I have worked with previously and am pleased to reunite now."

Chandler said,  "Kay's passion for art and attention to detail is obvious in his designs.  The day-to-day interaction with Scott will allow me to understand his inspirational designs. Reuniting with David Minster is also exciting.  He has a steadfast track record of managing successful, high-growth businesses."

Minster stated that Kennedy has had a distinguished career in prestige cosmetics, timepieces and management consulting, so "Tom is quite possibly the best general manager I've ever known."  Croston brings over two decades of experience at every level of jewelry manufacturing, where his supplier relationships will greatly benefit Scott Kay, Minster added.
