RAPAPORT... Dominion Diamond Mines will integrate the Sarine Diamond Journey into its CanadaMark website, enabling consumers to track the development of their diamonds from mine to retail, Sarine Technologies said recently.

The system was launched on the miner’s website at the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show earlier in March, providing images of the diamond through its journey along the supply chain. Customers also have access to images from the stone’s Sarine Profile report, the technology company added.

Sarine believes its position in the market helps set its program apart, as tens of millions of stones are polished using its rough-planning systems. That enables consumers to see the diamond depicted across all its manufacturing stages, the company noted.

“For a diamond producer to launch comprehensive documentation of the diamond’s journey in the striking visual format that Dominion has implemented is sure to set a new standard in consumer transparency,” said Sarine CEO David Block. “We believe this is another major step in creating a completely new retail diamond-buying experience, where brands can enhance themselves to create an ongoing engagement with their customers that transcends historic channels.”
