Sotheby’s Uses Multimedia to Feature Trending Topics

RAPAPORT... Sotheby’s has debuted an e-newsletter to highlight the auctioneer’s perspective on art, culture, style. The debut issue features a behind-the-scenes video at the company’s jewelry department and a look at the top ten jewels it sold online.

Among those jewels is a ring featuring an oval-shaped diamond weighing 22.30 carats sold online for $3.25 million during a New York sale in April.

David Goodman, Sotheby’s chief digital officer, last week said the firm has seen overall online bidding increase more than 50 percent and the value of property purchased online by clients appreciate by 35 percent in the past five months.
