RAPAPORT... The Israel Diamond Manufacturers Association last week honored 12 individuals for their contribution to the industry.

The ceremony, which occurs every two years, bestowing the title “Israel Diamond Industry Dignitary 2019,” took place on July 28 in the presence of government ministers and diamond industry leaders.

Most of the recipients are diamantaires, although the list also includes a banker and a supplier of metals used in diamond manufacturing. The honorees were:

Dany Avlas, Shalom Appelbaum, Avraham Eshed, Haim Bashari, Menachem Goldstein, Shalom Papir, Joseph Frei, Avi Szobel, Jacob Shor and Hanoh Stark. IsDMA gave the final two honors posthumously to David Zamir and David Sianes, whose family received the accolades on their behalf following their passing.
