RAPAPORT... Diamdel Antwerp was selected as one of 15 business in Belgium to represent that nation in The European Business Awards competition.  Bulgari was selected as one of the 25 companies that will represent Italy. This annual awards program is  dedicated to raising the visibility of companies that excel in delivering commercial results and excellent customer service, as well as acting responsibly across the environment.

The 220 companies chosen to represent the best businesses in their home countries will now be judged in a second qualifiying round by a panel of economists, academics, business leaders, politicians and media owners. The judges will evaluate each firm and select the top-scoring companies that will become the Ruban d’Honneur recipients in each category, with the results to be announced on July 29, 2010.

Program sponsor HSBC Group's general manager, Alan Keir, said, “The European Business Awards provide a great platform to recognize how businesses throughout Europe have excelled despite the financial uncertainty of the past two years. These companies have displayed an impressive ability to innovate and generate financial growth despite economic challenges and we are keen that through the European Business Awards, this success and the insights they afford are shared more widely across the European Union's (EU) business community. We look forward to celebrating alongside these country representatives and wish them every success at the next stage of the rigorous judging process.”

Ruban d’Honneur winners may attend the final stage of the competition in September, at which time they will give face-to-face presentations and interviews to a panel of judges who will then determine the overall European Business Award winner in each category. That final list of winners will be announced in November.

Neil Ventura of Diamdel said, “At Diamdel, we’re absolutely thrilled to be selected to represent Belgium. Diamdel has been operating in Antwerp for over 44 years in the diamond sector and it’s an honor to be recognized as one of the leading organizations in our country and in our field.

"The European Business Awards is widely recognized as the showcase for Europe’s most dynamic companies," Ventura added. "We’re looking forward to the next round of the competition, where we’ll be competing across Europe to receive a Ruban d’Honneur in our category."
