RAPAPORT... Sotheby’s Geneva will present The Sun-Drop Diamond, a 110.03 carat, VVS1, fancy vivid yellow diamond, at its Magnificent Jewels auction on November 15, 2011.  The pear-shape stone, which was exhibited earlier this year at London’s Natural History Museum, has an estimated market value of $11 million to $15 million. The diamond  was originally discovered in South Africa in 2010, and was cut and polished by Cora International, headquartered in New York.

Commenting on the forthcoming sale of the Sun-Drop Diamond, David Bennett, chairman of Sotheby’s jewelry department in Europe and the Middle East, said, ''This stone has immense presence and is truly stunning. It is also one of the largest diamonds ever to have appeared at auction. It is an honor to have been chosen by Cora International to present it to the market.''
