RAPAPORT... The Diamond Trading Company (DTC) advised  applicants of the  2012 to 2015 supplier of choice contract period that there is just one week remaining to submit the completed contract proposal questionnaires.

All proposals must be submitted online at newsightholdercontract.com before 11:59 p.m. (BST) on July 7, 2011. Once these questionnaires are submitted, the proposals are sent to the DTC's  supplier of choice ombudsman, who reviews them to ensure they do not contain excessive confidential information. Any such information is removed from the proposal before the application is passed to the DTC for scoring, with a team of  assessors rating each proposal  against a set of  performance benchmarks that underpin sightholder criteria. These scores are later reviewed by the DTC’s senior executive panel to guarantee that all assessors have taken a fair and consistent approach.

DTC anticipates that the  2012 to 2015 sightholder list will be announced in December 2011.

Varda Shine, DTC's chief executive, said, ''We have had a lot of interest in the new sightholder contract and we are confident that the new sightholder list we hope to announce in December will comprise diamond companies which are not only the best businesses in the segments of the market they serve, but are also committed --as we are– to living up to diamonds.

''The assessment criteria ensure that qualifying sightholders operate to the highest professional standards and are best able to add sustainable value to, and drive demand for, the rough diamonds we sell,'' she concluded.
