RAPAPORT... Los Angeles-based Robbins Brothers purchased all the assets of  E.E. Robbins in Seattle, Washington. Robbins Brothers started as a family-run business in Seattle in the 1920s, with the family's grandfather, Ben Tipp, operating a jewelry store downtown. The family moved to California in the 1950s, where his son-in-law, Eugene, opened William Pitt in Pasadena, just north of Los Angeles. Robbins Brothers, The Engagement Ring Store was founded by Emerson Robbins and his brother in the mid-1990s south of Los Angeles, in Orange County. Emerson went on to open additional independent stores under his own name in Seattle in the late-1990s. E.E. Robbins store locations are  Belltown, Seattle and  the east side's Bellevue.

Robbins Brothers will offer Seattle-area shoppers an expanded private label and designer selection of styles including halo, vintage, modern and classic rings.

"This is outstanding news for Seattle, and geographically completes the circle of our family's journey in the business," said Emerson. "Robbins Brothers is obviously a retailer I believe in, and because of the quality of their people and their focus on delivering the best customer experience and providing superb quality engagement rings and wedding bands, I know E.E. Robbins clients will be delighted with this announcement."

Andy Heyneman, the president and CEO for Robbins Brothers, said, "Emerson is an industry icon and has paved the way for the niche business of engagement rings. His integrity, commitment and genuine passion for the customer are renowned. We are incredibly honored to carry on his legendary service in Seattle."

Robbins Brothers operates 14 destination stores in Southern California, Dallas, Ft. Worth, Houston  and Seattle.
