Michael Hill's 3Q Sales +7% to $81M

Same-store stales +1.4 % to $76M

RAPAPORT... Michael Hill  reported that total global sales rose 6.5 percent year on year to $80.77 million (NZD 101.4 million) during the three months that ended September 30, 2011. Same-store stales during this third quarter rose 1.4 percent year on year  to $76.18 million (NZD $95.63 million).
 
Sales in Australia, which is the retailer's largest market, increased 7.2 percent to $54.8 million (NZD 68.75 million), while sales in New Zealand grew 1 percent to $20.93 million (NZD 16.69 million). Sales at Michael Hill’s Canada operations rose 11.3 percent to $7.52 million (NZD 9.43 million), and in the U.S., the smallest market for Michael Hill, sales rose 18.4  percent to $1.82 million (NZD 2.28 million).  Same-store sales for the eight U.S. stores rose 20.5 percent.
