Botswana's Diamond Exports -19% in March

Diamond exports fell 27 percent in the first quarter.

RAPAPORT... Botswana’s diamond exports fell 19 percent year on year to $411.3 million in March ‎‎2012, ‎according to figures released by the Bank of Botswana. During the first quarter ‎of the year, the ‎country’s diamond exports declined by 27 percent to $826.8 million.  ‎

The bank’s data is a representative sample of the country's full diamond trade and is ‎sourced ‎from the Diamond Trading Company Botswana, Leo Schachter Botswana, ‎Teemane ‎Manufacturing Co., and the Central Statistics Office.‎
