RAPAPORT... Brinks announced that all losses suffered by its customers as a result of the robbery that took place at Brussels Airport on February 18, 2013 have been paid in full.  All customers were paid within 48 hours of the robbery, the company noted.

“When an event of this magnitude occurs, it is essential that our customers know that the Brinks promise to pay, and pay quickly, has been honored,” the company stated. “Our company was built on this promise.”

Brinks did not give the amount that was required to pay its customers. Approximately $50 million worth of rough and polished diamonds were stolen in the armed heist that ‎took place at Brussels airport Monday night when eight men targeted the goods as they were being loaded on a flight to Zurich.

Brinks has the exclusive handling license for cash-in-transit operations at the Brussels airport. Goods transported by other companies are transferred to the Brinks vaults at the airport and subsequently handled by Brinks within the airport facility.

Brinks added, “We congratulate our team for their rapid response to our customers in a time of crisis, and we thank our customers for their commitment to Brinks.”
